What sets Clive Christian apart from other niche houses?
Clive Christian is a British luxury perfume house based in Mayfair, London. Its story starts with the Crown Perfumery Company, which dates back to 1872, when Queen Victoria granted the company the right to use the image of her crown. In 1999, Clive Christian OBE acquired the Crown Perfumery Company. Queen Victoria's crown still sits as the cap of every Clive Christian perfume.
Two things on the house's own account set it apart from most niche peers.
The first is concentration. The house says it only creates perfume of exceptional concentration, with a perfume oil inclusion of 20% or above in every bottle. The Addictive Arts perfumes, which it calls its boldest and most complex, are made at 25%.
The second is complexity. The house says anywhere between 120 and 300 different ingredients can be found in every Clive Christian perfume, and names materials such as aged Indian sandalwood, damask rose and saffron among them.
The range is organised into five collections:
- Original Collection is a tribute to the love story between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert: six perfumes, unchanged since 1999.
- Crown Collection explores the house's origins in the Crown Perfumery Company.
- Noble Collection retells stories from the past in perfume, from the 18th-century Queen Anne garden to Rococo and Art Deco.
- Private Collection is five perfumes, each named by a single letter: C, I, L, V and E.
- Addictive Arts is what the house calls pure perfume hedonism.
Do I need brand authorisation to sell Clive Christian?
No. Access to our Clive Christian stock depends on your trade account with us, not on an appointment from the house. Resale rules vary by country, so check the position in your market before you list. What is not acceptable anywhere is presenting yourself as an official Clive Christian distributor when you are not one.
What does a first Clive Christian order usually include?
Wide and shallow, led by the names customers already know.
The Original Collection is the natural anchor. It is the house's founding collection, unchanged since 1999, and holding both the masculine and feminine versions of 1872 and X lets you answer either request. From there, add one or two names from the other collections to show the range: Blonde Amber from the Noble Collection, C Woody Leather from the Private Collection, or Crab Apple Blossom from the Crown Collection.
Leave Addictive Arts and the quieter Noble names until you have sell-through data. They suit collectors well and move more slowly with everyone else, which is fine once you know which customers you have.
Testers are worth considering here, because we hold many Clive Christian lines in tester format as well. A tester is the same juice in plain packaging, the cheaper way to open wide across the collections before committing depth. Wholesale perfume testers covers the format.
No minimum per fragrance on full bottles, items under 10ml in tens, AED 5,000 per shipment.
Can I combine Clive Christian with other brands in one shipment?
Yes, and most accounts do. There is no single-brand requirement, and the shipment total can be met across any mix of houses.
Ex Nihilo, the Paris house behind Blue Talisman and Fleur Narcotique, is a natural companion. Nishane brings the Istanbul house behind Hacivat and Ani, and Initio the Paris house behind Side Effect and Oud for Greatness.

How do I open a Clive Christian wholesale account?
Apply with your business details and trade licence, and include your shop or social links, which carry real weight in the review. Approval usually comes within one business day.
Once approved, the catalogue opens with live stock counts and live trade pricing, tester and boxed lines listed separately so you can compare the two formats of the same fragrance directly. An account manager is reachable by name rather than through a shared inbox.
We ship to more than 100 countries, including South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, through FedEx, DHL and Aramex under dangerous-goods-compliant packing, or with your own freight forwarder. Freight is invoiced separately from goods so you can compare it against your own quote.
Wholesale perfume suppliers covers every supply category, and wholesale perfume Dubai covers buying from Dubai in more detail.
